BUDDHA & THE WISDOM TREE
The Story of Gautama Buddha
Buddha means the One who awakens to its true potential and infinite possibilities. The
One who awakens from the illusion of the cycle of death and rebirth, to which life in the
material world is bound.
The One who it is not their body; it is not their mind.
The One who overcomes the thought of getting something out of life that tomorrow will
bring.
The One who is above his intellect.
A symbol of Renunciation, Peace, Joy, Calmness, Bliss, Enlightenment, and Relaxation.
The tree where the Buddha sits is where he decides to be awakened.
Gautama was immersed in a practice called Samana, where one walks and only walks.
For four years, he walked with determination, not begging for money, food, or comfort
but purposely walking to understand its nature.
One full moon night, he was walking by a river in the jungle.
He was just bones and skin, too weak to walk with strength properly.
The river was too fast to keep his balance, so he slipped and fell.
Trying to hold his life by a thin branch, he never let go.
He pulled himself enough to crawl and sit under a tree.
He couldn't believe he was just about to die by the banks of the river.
So, he sat under a Bodhi Tree that just happened to be there, closed his eyes, and said
that either he awakened to its true nature or die sitting there. With this determination, it
happened in a moment.
He was ON! He opened his eyes to be brighter than the full moon.
He was looking full of life to become Buddha.
Boddhi trees and leaves are often seen in Buddhist temples, offerings, and meditations,
representing Peace and Enlightenment.
The copper leaves, continuing the pattern of the tree in the painting, are an offering of
this moment and determination.
May this devotion reverberate within you.
Copper is well known for its energy conduct and magnifying properties; its
antimicrobial properties help clean and sanitize the space.
Copper can combat lethargy, passivity, restlessness, excitability, and non-acceptance of
oneself.
The combination of symbolism and the purposeful use of the materials gives an
unvaluable experience and benefits, allowing the masterpiece to be appreciated.
An art piece to be completely submerged in its presence.
